Before making any new journey , let’s be grateful for our existence. On 22nd September 2011, I had met with a serious accident which had nearly costed me my life. I was cycling at a high speed through a dangerous mountainous slope when I had this accident. I suffered from two extradural hemorrhages ( brain hemorrhage) , several facial fractures , shoulder fracture. My face was completely disfigured. During those hours of pain, I felt a sense of liberation, gratefulness filled my heart, atleast I was alive. It doesn’t matter the number of scars that would be left behind or the dental disfigurement , atleast I was alive . I understood the pain of the crippled. I understood the anxiety before every surgery. I understood the stress related with the trauma when people asked how it all happened. I understood and I grew. But the journey was not easy. There were also long hours of depression. I felt like a victim, a bird put in the cage. The worst part was the state of physical dependence for every trivial task. I even got my haircut as I was tired of asking people to wash and comb my hair. During those hours of despair, I wrote a poem, An Ode to LIFE. During those hours of despair when I felt like giving up, I found myself and chose to smile. This is a poem that I dedicate to life.
An Ode to Life
I wandered several miles
It came in a while
The most beautiful thing I desired
Your smile!
Thoughts flow like a clear stream
I fear that it isn’t a dream
As the deep waters are blue,
So is your love for me which is true.
I wandered several miles
To realize
That you were there with me in all my groans and sighs,
I just had to open my eyes.
All the emotions fade away when I look at you,
You are me, I’m you
Only that’s true.
I wandered several miles , to realize
That I can’t decide your fate
We need to wait.
We haven’t seen it all, we have to answer many calls.
I fought, struggled , cried, wandered so many miles ,
It had to come in a while
Your smile!
Be the miracle that you’re looking for in the world. Life is short. Don’t fret about the past or waste time in brooding about the future. This moment that you have is really precious. It deserves your attention . Celebrate and have fun!! Be grateful for every person in your life.

Lots of love….
